The berceuse style of the second movement, The 'Great Platte River,' is a gentle ride down the river that flows through the state. The rowdy third movement, 'Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show,' is a return to the days of this American figure who brought his rough and tumble rodeo show to North Platte.
