Martinu wrote this piano piece c. 1926. The title 'Par T.S.F.' means 'par télégraphie sans fils', in English 'by wireless transmission', e.g. 'by radio'. The dry ostinato at the beginning is reminiscent of the Morse alphabet, the original wireless communication.
