Barbara Kirkby-Mason (1910-2000) was a British composer, pianist and pedagogue. She studied Piano at the Royal Academy of Music, and developed a career as a composer, lecturer and adjudicator. She is best known for herPiano method books such as The Modern Piano Course and The Adult Beginner, and continued writing books on Piano playing and theory right into her 80s.
