For almost eighty years, only incomplete manuscripts of this work were known to exist, but in 2007, the Eastman School of Music acquired a manuscript that had been in private hands since Howard Hanson's widow's death in 1996. Carl Fischer Music has now made this important work available to the world. Most notably, the final movement is well-known as one of the first symphonic band compositions by an American composer: 'Triumphal Ode.'
