Todos los títulos de la Jazz Ensemble Library publicada por Hal Leonard están arreglados en instrumentación estándar de big band (nivel de dificultad 4).
Esta serie es una colección cuidadosamente recopilada de estándares de jazz (swing), unos cuantos arreglos de ›no-especies‹ conocidos títulos del nicho pop, y también contiene muchas sorpresas.
Además, en algunos arreglos aparecen solos desafiantes pero tocables, ¡que harán las delicias de sus compañeros de banda!
Aquí tiene seis ejemplos representativos de la serie Jazz Ensemble Library:
- Lullaby Of Birdland de George David Weiss & George Shearing: El clásico de George Shearing de los años 50 se arregla aquí en un estilo latino moderado que se acerca bastante al original. Arreglado principalmente para el conjunto completo, Mark Taylor añade algunos cambios de tiempo para animar las cosas. Hay solos para contralto, trompeta y percusión (opcional: flauta).
- In the Mood de Joe Garland: Este bello tema clásico de swing -que Glenn Miller hizo famoso- es uno de los favoritos de muchas big bands. Aquí está la Edición Original del compositor Joe Garland.
- Spain de Chick Corea: Este magistral arreglo de la pluma de Paul Jennings de 1982 suena intemporalmente fresco. - La chica de Ipanema de Antonio Carlos Jobim: Normalmente interpretada en estilo latinoamericano (olvide por un momento la aterciopelada voz de Astrud Gilberto), Mark Taylor ha creado un maravilloso arreglo de este popular estándar en forma de swing shuffle medio. No hay nada relajado en él, ya que todo el conjunto se abre en un modo de potencia y prepara los trombones para el primer coro. Siguen unos solos para el tenor, seguidos por una trompeta, luego un estribillo secundario para el conjunto y un breve solo de saxofón. Un nuevo enfoque de un tema conocido.
