The music publishers of today face numerous new challenges in an environment transformed by extensive technical and economic change. A symposium on this issue - staged to coincide with the 100th anniversary of Universal Edition's founding - was held by the Institut für Wertungsforschung (Institute of Musical Criticism and Aesthetical Research) of the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Graz.
