Franz Beyer's Urtext edition, even in cases of occasional inconsistency, adheres to Mozart's transcription.

The revision of the frequently sung Mass in B-flat major brings to light a large number of new readings compared to the older Breitkopf edition.

The 'Köchel' still describes the autograph to Mozart's popular aria, but reports it as 'lost' already in 1964. Now the manuscript has reappeared and serves (1997) as a reliable basis.

Until now, Schubert's most popular 'Youth Mass' often sounded with strings only. Then the set of parts written by Franz Schubert himself was recovered in Klosterneuburg.
