The source of our present sonata in F major by Johann Friedrich Fasch (Fawv.d3) is a copy of the part, which the University and State Library of Darmstadt keeps under the signature "Mu Ms 298-9".

Among the outstanding composers for the flute of the post-classical period is indisputably Caspar Kummer. The Trio, with its ravishing finale, almost indispensable in its class, IS repertoire.

Among Eschmann's admirers was Brahms, who wrote to his publisher: 'He (Eschmann) will be known to you and does not need my recommendation'. Op. 6 belongs in the repertoire of every horn player.

The piece captivates by a fine tonal ballance between horn and the piano part. The rhapsodic melodic structure already shows early Romantic coloring. Ideal as an encore and addition to the repertoire.
