With its rich ornamentation, passagework interspersed with chromatic steps, and fanned-out chordal playing, Hummel achieves attractive and 'equal' playing moods even in the concertante sonata.

Schubert's virtuoso solo work needs no recommendation. The variations are indispensable repertoire! Perhaps attention may be drawn here to the meaning-giving painting of our edition.

The two sonatas are among the most beautiful 'songs' from the famous 'Viennese School' entrusted to the flute; warmly recommended in the didactic field.
